My name is Jonathan Phillips and I live and study in Knoxville Tennessee. I am graduating with a BA in English (Poetry Concentration) in May of 2010. Photography and writing are not as distinct as they seem, and this blog seems to be the perfect opportunity to illustrate the similarities between the two.

I have recently begun to move my writing in a more non-fiction direction, this blog will be a space for cultural and sociological reflection. Personal stories of interest, movie & book reviews etc.
With school ending it is difficult to say what my trade is, but given the circumstances, it would have to be being a musician. I play in a band, Faux Ferocious, in Knoxville (thats me on the far-right in the
opening picture). I designed (with the help of dynamod's templates) that website as well, so you see the interests just keep piling up into a heap of indistinguishable, rudimentary beginnings. Here on this blog I pursue some of my interests and keep the eager public up to speed at every turn.
I have briefly, but carefully, studied photography under Baldwin Lee (see his work here) at the University of Tennessee. I feel I have achieved some success in photography, so this will be at least one part photoblog. And in that spirit, here is a picture:
